I love how there are so many articles dedicated to this area, when it is in fact very simple.
DISCLAIMER: I know nothing of specific skin disorders. For that type of information, I suggest you see a dermatologist. This article is about GENERAL skin care adviceTaking care of your skin is incredibly easy, and is actually a byproduct of living a healthy life. Like many other things, if you simply take care of the cause then the symptoms will naturally disappear. Our body is designed to naturally have healthy skin, so skin care is all about letting your body do it's job.
Straight up, there are 4 main things that will improve your skin:
1. Sleep
Sleep is absolutely essential for healthy skin. In fact, sleep is critical to the health of every cell in your body. We're all familiar with how loose and sallow our skin can be after a few nights of poor sleep. The recommended length of time for sleep is 8 hours, which has been confirmed by numerous studies.
2. Nutrition
Every cell in your body gathers nutrients from the food that you eat. If you eat all kinds of junk food, then how would it be possible for your skin cells to stay healthy and vibrant? The most important things are to cut out all excess sugars, trans fat and other junk. Also, drinking 8-16 glasses of water, depending on your level of physical activity is absolutely critical as well.
3. Exercise
Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to all the cells of the body and transports waste from the cells to the liver. A healthy cardiovascular system will aid this process greatly. Light cardio several times a week will ensure that your heart is pumping efficiently and your skin will naturally improve.
4. Hygiene
And lastly, we need to actively take care of our skin. This is actually the least influential factor, which might be counter-intuitive to a lot of people who are used to reading loads of information on products for their skin. You really just need to wash your skin with a very gentle, hypoallergenic soap and moisturize it. However, on the face, I recommend using NO SOAP. That's correct. Facial skin is extremely sensitive and can be irritated by almost any soap. Furthermore, the more grease you wash off your face with soap, the more gets created by the skin. Just rinse it with warm water while you are in the shower.
As you can see, skin care is taken care of naturally when you simply lead a healthy lifestyle. A lot of people don't like to hear that, and just want the quick-fix "magic pill" solutions to make their skin seem youthful and vibrant. But what's the point of being concerned with appearances, when there is no actual substance behind it? I don't want to get all "philosophical" here, but there is really no point in trying to impress people, especially by pretending to have something that you don't.
By focusing on your health, not only will you achieve great skin, but THOUSANDS of other benefits including: greater mental focus, self-esteem, less illnesses, longer life, improved memory etc etc etc.
Don't deny yourself what you know you can have. Step up and own it.
